In case you wondered about our upcoming Spring Vendor Fair, here’s a little post with details.

Normally we would write a seasonal salutation along the lines of, “Spring is in the air….” However, due to many months of inclement weather we’ll start with a more appropriate introduction.

Dreams of Spring are In the Air! Crocus, daffodils, grass, chirping birds…someday soon they will arrive in Milwaukee, allowing us to put away our snow shovels and rain gear in exchange for gardening tools, sunshine and seasonal beverages on the porch.

Rain or Shine, Sprecher will host its annual Spring Vendor Fair at the brewery on April 28th

Throughout the brewery a wide array of vendors will showcase their products for you to peruse at your leisure. Temptation without unnecessary pressure, what a great way to shop!

Take a brewery tour, then while you’re sampling from 15 beers and 9 sodas on tap, wander about and check out what’s available. The selection of vendors has been carefully cultivated to offer you a wide variety of goodies you might personally enjoy, or that might be just right for your Mom.  Mother’s Day is May 12…you can do your shopping at Sprecher’s Spring Vendor Fair on April 28th.  Brewery tour+samples+ easy Mother’s Day shopping = Triple WIN! Added bonus: we’ll have a game or two on our high-definition TV = Home Run!

Cost: $5 adults; $4 Seniors; $3 Minors. US military personnel with valid ID are FREE. Includes tour, commemorative glass, samples and vendor fair. Tours are offered on the hour, noon-3pm.

Book your tour reservation online at www.sprecherbrewery.com, or call the Gift Shop at 414.964.2739.

Note: You can attend the vendor fair without going on the tour but you will be charged the tour price.

Sprecher Brewery and the Sprecher Gift Shop are located at 701 W. Glendale Ave, Glendale, WI. The Sprecher Gift Shop is open Mon-Sat, 11am-6pm; Sun, Noon-5pm.

Hopfuzion = Easy Drinker

09th November 2012

Back in August we got in a non-descript white van and headed to central Wisconsin for the Midwest Hop and Barley Co-Op hop harvest. Due to the drought, several farmers lost up to 2/3 of their crops. Even so, the hops were bountiful enough that we left with 300 pounds of Wisconsin Cascades that we immediately drove back to the brewery and put in the lager tank on top of an already aging batch of Special Amber. That batch aged 6 weeks more with the freshest of fresh hops giving rise to Hopfuzion, one of the best session beers we’ve ever created, a remarkably easy drinking Wisconsin lager with a smooth mouthfeel; fruit notes; dry toast and biscuit matliness in the middle; and a tantalizing hop bitterness on the finish.

Into the Harvester

Fill Hop Vine

Hopfuzion, 300 pounds of wet hopped WI Cascades in 22oz

Easy drinking though it is, or perhaps because it goes down so smoothly, this is not a beer for everyone. If you love massive IPAs, the inkiest of stouts or the smokiest beer available, this is not a beer for you. However, if you’d like a beer that goes well with football, poker nights, pool league, chillin’ with some friends, then we suggest trying Hopfuzion, which has a lot of Wisconsin in every bottle.  Cheers!

Rooty’s New York Adventure

15th October 2012

Rooty had a fun weekend in the Big Apple– New York City– land of bright lights, big dreams, fashion trendsetters, investment bankers and a little bit of Wisconsin.

What kinda dogs you selling, Mister?

My Own Chauffeur

After walking several blocks he tried to trade some Root Beer and Rooty charm for a free Rickshaw ride. That didn’t work so he proceeded to the hot dog cart hoping for a bite of a genuine NYC hot dog. Alas, the vendor wasn’t ready to serve so Rooty wandered across the street to visit with a horse whose pulls a carriage (full of tourists) for a living.  Unable to talk the price down to something Rooty could afford (free), Rooty decided to hang for a bit and keep the horse company.

Could you take me for a ride around Central Park?

My Pal Terry

On Sunday morning  Rooty headed to the celebrated Kettle of Fish (57 Christopher St.) to watch the Packers play the Colts. As many people know, and many Wisconsinites set their alarm clocks for, the Kettle is the place to go for Packer games. Word of warning: all though the news is out, in case you weren’t previously aware, get there early or you’ll never get in.
All the bartenders and waitresses at the Kettle do a great job

My buds: Patrick and Adrienne

at keeping Packer fans happy. They sell Sprecher Special Amber, Black Bavarian and Root Beer; have cheese and sausage to snack on; and you get a Usinger’s brat with your entry ticket.  Including and beyond these goodies, the Kettle during a Packers game is a cultural experience. Another chorus of “I Love My Green Bay Packers,” anyone? Owners of the Kettle, Patrick and Adrienne, have put Wisconsin on the NYC map (in a good way).

Yum! Packer Fan Birthday Cake!

Look What I Found!
